This week on The KoPoint Comic Book ShowJon LazarJeff Newelt, and Dan Patterson are joined by Josh Frankel, the Publisher of Zip Comics, publisher of Harvey Pekar’s Cleveland. We take a little time to get to know Josh and how he and Jeff got to know each other and work together, and ask Josh his top 5 books to give to a new comic book reader.

Josh’s first books to give to a new comic book reader are: Harvey Pekar’s Cleveland, The Fantastic Four Omnibus by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby,  Book of Genesis by R. Crumb, Maus by Art Spiegelman,  and Orc Stain by James Stokoe.

From there, they go on to discuss superhero teams. From the all-star teams of Justice League of America and The Avengers to more self-contained teams like the X-Men, X-Statix, and the Teen Titans to the more indie teams of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and DNAgents, the various teams of the last 50 years are explored.
